Worst Suprise: Yukimura Sanada, played the heck out of him with many other games, though with this 170 character roster, he's no longer of interest for me to play.
Most underrated, IMO:
Takakage Kobayakawa - just awesome looking design, and a clearing machine when buffed appropriately.
Zhang Jiao - Maybe one of the top three designs in the game, IMO - just looks fantastic and when leveled up with all magic and power to his weapons, especially bolt 10 dude is a MACHINE! He's like Gandolf making it rain destruction, tuly epic character!
Then there's Ina who I always considered to be... kinda meh... but she is a killing machine in this one.
On a worst scale there is Yueying. I don't remember her ever being this useless. But whatever.
Other than that... idunno... there isn't much that has changed my perception of characters themselves. I guess I'm impressed at how kind and generous Kai is, but it's not like I didn't love her before, I just like her even more now.
Although I'm totally shipping Xu Huang and Aya now xD
I hate to like demolish your past opinion on Nu Wa, but she kinda still is the same she ever was. Minus the RB/Magic changes. I played her the very same way in 2 and 3, she always was a swift attacker (yeah low range is her trademark alright). Her moveset is the very same as in 3. I've been kinda unsecretly in love with her since forever and she doesn't feel any different.
But in return I completely agree on Yueying. I'm so disappointed with her, since I love her looks. Even with a fully pimped weapon she still does everything worse than everyone else. I mean her musou is decent but it doesn't always fully hit (explosions can miss after the wooden oxes hit). She is still playable though. Just always gotta think "if I was hero x now instead I could have done this better". There are worse characters though, the ones that got too long animations to be useful.
Omg this is true! I discovered him so late in Spirit of Sanada after ignoring him the entire time in 4-II. I have yet to play him in Orochi 4 though. I don't like his babyface. But moveset wise he rocks.
Omg yes this is so true!! And the worst about it is when I was younger I fell for him myself. I always thought he was so brave for never giving up, for being so loyal to his lord, for wanting to make the wishes of the departed become reality. But he really is just too ignorant to see people suffering because of his actions.
I believe the reason for him to be so popular is because "never give up" is such a popular thing in modern media and encourages people to never give up themselves no matter how bad they feel about their life. Plus he is a good looking young lad and good looks make people go easier on the personality side.
I'm training Diamondback cause his Musou is hilarious, I bought the outfit DLC just because of him, he's wearing Orochi's hat and outfit is so funny.
Kaguya is a surprise, I like her bamboo tree, what's better than hitting your foes with bamboo tree from below and do the same till they die right?
Zeus and Loki are disappointing, slow attacks especially Loki getting interrupted too much.
Tadakatsu Honda still rocks, he's the only char I remember when I played WO from 10 years ago. They change his moveset a bit but he's still strong.
I like Kaguya a lot as well, very capable and fun to play with. Honda is a crazy powerful, a true battlefield clearer.
I'm talking about his animations taking so long you literally spend half an eternity inside a mission because of it?
I like Kaguya three err I mean too! :D
I thought the same. And I believe the reason for this might be the difference in framerate. On 60 fps, or even on 45 fps it's easier to manage her speed than on 30 fps like the xbox/360 had.
I am just surprised Guan Xing can used this way. Not mine but worth looking at.
