Samurai Warrior characters seem more fun.
This is my first Orochi game, and it feels like the Samurai Warriors characters just feel better, overall. Their attacks are more mobile, hit more people, and generally have more attacks, while it feels like I'm restricted when I play a Dynasty Warriors character. Then again I'm only about 2 hours in, am I wrong here?

It varies. There are differing kinds of SW characters and the Hyper/Normal chains can be pretty amazing and there are some that are duds. Although there are a few absolutely beastly DW characters that have speed and power. Have you taken Xiao Qiao out into the field yet? An absolute monster.

while I agree that they are better for moving (Specially if they are fast like Naotora Ii, which is faster than even Kunoichi), when I need to hit a boss, I feel their attacks moving too much, while DW characters are better focused. Of course, that varies through characters, Lianshi's weapon surprised me with her movements, and Tadakatsu Honda moved very little.

hyper attacks are ridiculously broken. activating all elements with it's use makes the DW garbage in comparison. i played the first stage a second time after i bought it and got a 10,000 combo just by chaining a triangle > switch > triangle > switch > etc combo.

There is one thing that fails some SW characters and it's the length of their combos. Every DW character's combo stops at C5, whereas some SW characters (Kenshin, for example), go as far as C8. On harder difficulty you don't always have a privillege of mashing your normal attack until you can finally hit C8.

But other than that, I agree.

No, you are absolutely right. And I predicted this problem already all the way back in spring on the DW9 forums: Koei did not bother with looking into the fact that SW4 introduced the Y-X combos to dash quickly through peons and farm them more effectively. They never had those in any Dynasty Warriors game. But instead of either disabling them for the SW cast or programming according hyper combos for the DW cast, Koei went the lazy route and just left things as they were in the original games.

Some of the dynasty warriors like Guan Yu and Zhang Fei are able to self buff attack up, then swap in Gracia or Ina to spam hyper attack. Their projectile hyper attack can juggle even officer to death, together with the boost basically it becomes a projectile game.

Well, in Chaotic state of the game, you will need Musou boss killer as Ma Chao, Wang Yi, or guard-broken based character as Zhang Liao.
This game is about creating the team that can have the best success with your playstyle in Chaotic. In easier difficulties, it's just sandbagging so, you don't have to care I guess.

disabling the hyper combos?? Are you out of your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mind? Do you play this game for fun or for the sake of balancing 170 characters?

Hehe I agree with you. The only real issue I see with the current state of things, is that the Unique Magic action gets stronger if you're at a 300 hit-combo and stronger yet at 1000, in combination with the fact that it's generally much easier to reach higher hit-combos with SW characters precisely because of their Hyper attacks.

It's really a non-issue, but it does irk me a tiny bit ...

Try to play Ma Chao and full clear the map on horse, you'll get all the combo you want and you will be a lot faster than doing it with SW char with hyper combo. Stop over-hyping it, if they release an Ultimate difficulties you won't play SW char anymore rofl.

Guan Yinping is very good for getting a high combo and also juggling a foe with fire. just spin that analog stick around when doing a C5 or C6 with fire and just watch that health of a foe melt. also works really well with her unique magic attack as catch them in C5 or C6 and it can keep them in the air a good 10 seconds longer.

hyper attacks trigger every element. it's ridiculously strong the more elements you stack on, like slash/wind/lightning/whatever else.

you gotta use C3 first so you get an attack speed bonus. It's ridiculously strong if you also use a attack speed element on your weapon, she's too strong.
