On that note, I noticed the loading screens did have controls displayed, but the first one of those passed by and threw me into the game before I had a chance to read it adequately. (The info might have been there?)
Perhaps a press-to-continue from the loading screen might be an option? That way people can start the game, load a save, and grab a drink or something without the thing instantly starting up. It would also allow the game to include information (whether it be controls, or info about the setting, or whatever.)
Can't quite remember if I'm thinking Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, or maybe it was Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - but one of the games I'd been playing a few weeks ago had a similar thing.
For those who'd prefer to dive straight into the action instead of press a button at the end of the game's loading screen, this could perhaps be a toggle option in the Settings?
Not an urgent thing, by any means - and possibly too late to code in anyway - but perhaps something to consider, if the loading screens will be used to display information worth reading. :-)
So if I press the (X) button, then the game displays stuff as gamepad controls. If I then tap the [x] key, it displays as keyboard controls instead, until I press a button on the gamepad again.
I figured out that "Start" was bound to [Enter], so I could begin the game. But it was the third thing I pressed, after Spacebar and Leftclick.
Similarly, I eventually worked out how to navigate the menus using Q in place of the left bumper/trigger button, but didn't figure out how to navigate right until I was ready to quit - and even then whatever I selected put me back to 'press start to play' instead of the desktop, so I guess I must have clicked on the wrong thing there.
(Alt+F4 worked fine though.)
I get that it's only a demo, and definitely not the finished product. But I wouldn't call myself a stranger to videogames, and so I was not expecting the basic controls (including menu controls) to involve a learning curve. :-p
(Edit: It is also nearly 5am so this could just be over-tiredness on my part, if this stuff was blatantly there and I simply didn't see it. ^_^ )
