When the game does not start

We identified two problems so far:

1) For some reason the game does not work with older versions of .NET, even though it should. We are investigating it. Meanwhile you can try to install the newest .NET framework from here:
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework-runtime

2) There might be some issue with Steam's SDK. Please, try to update to the newest version of Steam.

just updated dotnet to latest version and the game stopped working :'D

edit: manual reinstall of dotnet helped

When you are unable to install the .NET or you still can not launch the game...manually download from Microsoft webpage the windows updater tool to update your windows to latest version. Might take up to one hour, depending on your connection speed and hdd speed.

Hello there,I got the same problem.I tried to update .net 4.7.2 framework but it says it is not supported on my w10 version(build 1511)
Please make it work!

Had a windows 7 update that broke something, (today 12 / 12 /2018) stopped the game from working, but reupdating the the above net framework seems to have fixed it.

Just a heads up in case any others have the same issue.

Windows 7 here too. 64-bit. Same issue. Tried to start the game for the very first time today (12.12.18). The game did some first time installation things but it didn't seem to go anywhere and eventually just crashed. Tried to launch the game again and it just instantly crashed.

I installed the .NET framework 4.7.2 from the link and it fixed the problem. Game launched just fine after that.

Seems that the update must have broken something, can't say Im surprised mind, but at least the solution was a simple one.

Game can only work on 4.7.X i assume .
i have win 8 and win 8 is incompatible with 4.7.x series most people should have the similar story too.

This should be fixed by today's update. The game should work with version 4.6 and any newer. Please report, if the problem prevails.

We need more details. What's your CPU, graphics card and operating system version? What version of .NET you use? Can you send us log file to [e-mail]? The file is located in:
Documents/jng2/!game_log.txt
