I am age 50. I know Jones well. Yes, it is becoming like Jones, but better and modern. The game is still being made, so give all your ideas and help make this awesome.

There lives a small Jones inside us all.

I think a big thing missing for this game from Jones is the market aspect on pricing and jobs. The hourly rates for jobs never change. The prices of buying things never change. I would always play Jones going to the jobs and trying to get a promotion. Waiting for the markets to crash and get a good deal on the rental price. Plus the down sides of randomly losing your job. Specially if you havent worked in a while and lose your job.

I loved Jones in the fast lane (yes I'm 55). I think this game with a little bit of the game "this grand life" would be a fantastic and fun game.

I'm also curious why the stock market crash and economic rng disappeared along with the pawn shop? I remember being forced to sell my hot tub to pay the rent or buy new clothes or paying for a lifetime of school in one turn when it is $21 to enroll. Now, your aunt Betty just sends you cash after four turns without the fashionable barrel your character had to embarrassingly wear? The game seemingly lacks a competitive element or sense of urgency outside of the final scores. Most of what made JitFL so fun to play was randomized elements each game with economy fluctuations and job raises. Can we expect any kind of features like this in future updates?

Basically without the fluctuating RNG economy, economy crashes / loss of jobs, wages per hour fluctuations this game made itself inferior to JitFL... better graphics dont make up for that. the RNG of JitFL gave the good old Sierra game an infinite replayability, contrary to this game... after a couple of hours it has lost its MOJO... Sierra understood what replayability & RNG meant...

I still have my Jones in the Fast Lane CD for my Win 98 PC. I miss the fluctuating pay rates and just the costs of everything. Sometimes things would go on sale or be more expensive. It was nice being able to keep the same job but sometimes get a raise. If I'm correct, there was also a chance that your rent could go up, which was one reason that you eventually were practically forced to move into the high rent/security apartment. Maybe it would be nice to also have a third option of buying a house. And for the record, I'm only 40.

There are some games on the Bigfish games site that are similar to Jones. They're Life Quest, Life Quest 2, and I think Magic Quest. Magic Quest is like Jones but you're a wizard.

There was a game "New Life" Greenlit on Steam few years ago. It was supposed to be released soon in remastered version but "No time..." looks like remastered version of New Life. It has very similar gameplay, just like Jones, but some characters, locations are extremely similar even their composition and details.

I was curious if anyone else recognised this as a modern version of Jones in the Fast Lane, nice to know there are people out there who remember that classic :)
