Besides the local server that was introduced with R31 Update and can be used to play locally and over the local network with your friends and family, you have an option to run a dedicated game server. It's freely available to download, install and run. Please follow this detailed guide on our wiki:

It may be a bit overwhelming, so we recommend it only to experienced players and people who have technical experience running this type of applications (who are familiar with the command line applications, etc.).
