About canned food and mulch

I want the buff to get on the can
It is good not to rot.
But for T4 canned tiers I want an additional effect.

I feel that the number needed for wheat and rice seeds is a bit strange.
Wheat can be about 30 but rice is less so 5 feels too big for seeding.

It also seems odd to use hours to make a mulch.
