So, the best way to get a lot of them would be to trade with other players. They might have a few you can buy with other resources.
Note: gems drop when you reach certain level of prospecting skill, so please open the skill menu and confirm if you have this perk unlocked. If I remember correctly it should be unlocked at level 10 of prospecting.
Its level 15 atleast on PVE.
I know that emerald come from sand, diamond from coal and tourmaline from clay. If someone knows where to find the others, please share.
As long as you have the necessary skill you can get the gems just by mining the minerals (be it metal ores, clay, sand, coal, etc.).
Devs - trade with other players
Players - no one want to trade them
They are sought after precisely because they are rare.
To give them credit they did up the pragmium after a few days of posting.
Tell your friends to post in this forum otherwise it wont happen.
OMG! I just noticed you like Grim Dawn, too! That is one of my FAVORITE games! That and Terraria. :P
They know that people would like to rotate objects but they dont have the manpower to do new content and draw every object again.
What would you prefer rotate objects or complete new content?
Sure i would love to be able rotate objects so my bases would look better but not at the cost of new content.
Would you play the game for 100 hours more and recommend the game just because you can rotate the buildings?
Are you not recommend the game because you cant rotate buildings?
Gems are rare but still easy to get if you just want them for the Gold Armor (achievement).
I got enough gems just from farming minerals for building my base and crafting. I never started farming only for Gems. I had all the gems long before i i had enough spare Gold because i was unlucky with the events and wasted a lot for other things.
The only problem with Gems is if you use the Rapier as your main/second weapon.
If you friends get bored because it was to grindy what would they say if they get everything after 10 hours?
The game is boring we did everything and now there is nothing to do?
I dont know then your friends played the game but with the last update the grind was dramaticly reduced especially with the drones.
Without grind the whole game would be pointless it would be just a Call of Duty with a little farming.
Some Achievement should be hard to get so you have to work for the 100% (Perfect game)
I have 231 hours and found 5 gems. Not even close to what is needed for that golden armor.
I dont care what you smell.
Who said that 192h there in 1 month? I played the game before A27 Update.
231 and only 5 gens?
That dont sound like a rng/dropchance problem but more like a planning/farming issue.
i got with less hours enough gems to build the Armor and have 1 or 2 left.
You dont need to play 5 hours a day to get something.
If you can play only 1 hour a day and you want everything as fast as possible you have to plan your time better.
No running around and doing nothing.
No exploring the world.
No farming with a 50% full inv.
I only mentioned the rotating issue because I was trying to convey that those "little" things (to the player, not the development side) make a game enjoyable or not enjoyable. I have not posted threads about that being a huge deal. Yes, it's irritating to me, but I understand it from their point of view.
Anyway, enough said. I think I've made the point I wanted to make. The gems are just a little too rare. Thanks for your time and patience with reading about this issue.
