Meteorite event question

I would like to know if the number of found meteorites in the tooltip relates to only the area I'm currently in or if it's a total number spread between both locations where they can drop? So if I found 5/7 in one area, can I find 2 more in the same area or should I go to the other one?

Its the number in the area you are´and the number or areas depends on the number of player online.

Thanks for responding. Yeah I figured out it's the number for the current area, I managed to get to both places in the same event. Playing solo till I learn the ropes, thanks for the info.
