Custom Character Name Restrictions Are BROKEN! Please, Devs, Fix This!

I recently realized that the game has what I assume is a profanity filter when naming custom characters. However, it seems to do this validation for each letter typed in, not for the final name.

This means that if I try to type in "Shaggy" from scooby doo, which is canonically part of the DC universe, it'll give me an error message as soon as I type "Shag" and won't let me continue typing.

It also marks the letters "fuc" as explicit, So I can't have a character named "Fucshia Fighter" because it will stop be from writing my name halfway through.

Also, for some reason the letters "god" are marked as explicit if they appear anywhere in your character's name. That's not even a swear word, what the ♥♥♥♥ guys?

Censorship is annoying, but this is just BROKEN.

Exactly. I tried making Nightcrawler in the customiser and so when i typed "♥♥♥" it immediately said i couldn't do it. I assume it's to stop from the N-word, but you can't even type out night.

Did you try to write word wrong first and then correct one of the middle letters? Like Nivhtcrawler and then replacing the v with g?

The text input system is set up so you can't click in the middle of the word, only remove the most recent.

Hey you can type the custom character name you want on the browser, copy and paste it, and you can use any name you want! Consider this problem SOLVED.

Great idea, but I just tried it and when I pressed Ctrl+V, it told me that the name was invalid. (The name I used was "Shaggy")

I just came across another annoying censor. the word "Ano" is completely invalid, the only reason i can imagine why is a while back on websites like tumblr they had a community of people who were Pro-anorexia and they used Ano as a short term for it. But still this is a LEGO DC game i don't know why there are so many names you cannot spell.

If anything this is teaching kids the first letters in swear words rather than preventing them.

I tried to make a character named Boudicca, after the ancient British warrior queen, but her name wasn't allowed because "dic" was in it.
I had to go Mortal Kombat and change it to Boudikka. Which was allowed, weirdly enough.

No need to drag obscure Tumblr clans into this, "Ano" is the italian word for "A nus". I experimented a little and the censor filter does indeed apply on italian vulgar words.
- "Troia", a vulgar word for prostitute (english equivalent: w ♥♥♥♥)
- "C ulo", a vulgar word for butt (english equivalent: a ss)
- "Frocio", an offensive word for a gay man (english equivalent: f ag)
All these words get blocked at the third letter.

This is very strange. I entered the game again to test some names and now it behaves differently. It allows me to write TROI and blocks me only at the fifth letter. It also allows me to write FROCI and blocks me when I enter the final 'o'. CUL still triggers a block tho.

I also experience this problem. The name thing won't let me type "Ice". What is so offensive about ice?
