Can't name custom character on PC using keyboard

Is anyone else having a problem on PC (Windows 10) naming their custom characters using the keyboard? Is there any way to switch to a controller-based way to name the characters?

I have a Logitech K750 wireless keyboard that clearly works because I'm typing this with it. But in the game when invited to enter a name, the cursor flashes but nothing happens when I type or try to delete the 'Custom X' name.

Oddly... when I switch off the game (Alt + Tab) to see if I can change any settings to force the game to recognise the keyboard, when I switch back to the game the resolution on the game is AWFUL. Sometimes it resets to 800 x 600.... and I have a 43" 4K HDR screen so it is TINY. Even when it returns to 4K the quality is really fuzzy.

When u customized your charater was selecting the different options difficult like it was in the Marvel Superheroes 2 while using a keyboard or did they change it?

I don't know if this is relevant, but I started customizing with a controller, but when I got to the naming bit, I was basically required to switch to a keyboard. and g4r3thjms, If that happens, try going into options and selecting "return to defaults" as that sets you up with the recommended specs for your PC/monitor. Yapa, I don't know how hard it is to customize using a keyboard as I haven't tried it. I hope that helps all of you! :)

Have you found a solution? I'm so frustrated, because have the same problem: I can't switch tabs and change the name of character, so I can't start the game! ;/

I haven't. :( Besides, I don't see the option of changing the tabs. When I finished creating my character I press enter and I see the command "Enter character name using the keyboard", but I can't do it.

If you're using big picture, you can hit the chord button and use the onscreen keyboard. (For some reason, I can't get the Shift to work when naming using that though).

I ended up naming my character with a wireless keyboard, and then not bothering with the custom ones since I kept getting told I can't give them cool names.

It's the confusing button prompts that are on screen for keyboard controls (imo).
I'm guessing you naturally used the Enter key (when asked to enter a custom name). However, you needed to press the 'J' key (I did this for ages too).

First set up your character, then press the Enter key (to 'Continue Game').

A message that then appears stating something like "enter a custom character name".

HERE, is where your must press the 'J' key (although instinct makes you think it will be the Enter key - The Enter key unselects the Custom Name field :)

Pressing the 'J' key enters the custom name field (albeit with a small bug where the key input 'J' is added to the field ;)

After adding a new name press the Enter key and continue into Lego land!

Had this happen to me a few times. I found that if I just close out of the character creator (just save the character as is) and go back in then I can enter a name with the keyboard.

were you able to change the colors of your custom character? i swear the screen says "E" key but nothing happens. due to my low resolution i thought it could also be "F" or "B" key but those didn't worth either

You're a life saver! I was stuck at the naming step for minutes and my keyboard didn't respond at all lol
