If indeed the case, perhaps you want to mention that in the manual (or address it elsewhere. Kind of a one-time notification, generally.)

Yes, controller connect/disconnect should be handled properly, but Steam doesn't have strict rules about that (like on Playstation/Xbox), so it's still not implemented.
The manual line about "don't get hit" to indicate a loss of power, might (and I stress "might") be additionally helpful by saying something like "DON'T HIT or get hit" (emphasis for this comment only), to stress that hitting obstacles will also cost power.
I also notice that perhaps power can sometimes be lost w/o making contact. Perhaps as a factor of time?

This is mentioned in current in-game tutorial.
I spoke incorrectly. I meant the multpliers (but I can understand that there might be a connection between the two, if that's indeed the case.)
