The game features a manual saving system, you can save progress in one of the many Phonographs found around the game.

Phonographs are manual save points. In the 25 minutes I played there were two, so that's pretty reasonable. I still think WI doing a non-FMV game is heresy, but what do I know :tearsRV:

Hem... no. Manual saving at predefined spots is not remotely good. It's checkpoint with effort, like the worst of both worlds.
Two checkpoints in 25 minutes? Misery.

Honest PC games demand save at will in unlimited slots. This game clearly denies exploration.

I avoid horror games. This one was indeed unusually attractive. Too bad the devs hate players and money and decided to dispense with basic features.

Ignorelisted.

Can understand what you mean. For a while save anywhere was normative, but it seems devs find it annoying to implement and that it shortens game time. I'd love save anywhere in every game, but for me two in 25 minutes is OK. You're not wrong, tho.
So this game has no checkpoint at all?

No, just manual saving at phonographs. Basically checkpoints you activate.
