Is this game worth it?
I'm seeing much of the negative reviews so I wanted to get a better idea of what people think of the game and if it worth it.

Ill mainly be playing the game offline.

The main campaign is fairly well written if not a little cliche and does a good job of introducing the world and mechs to you slowly, and the mechanics are fun enough and the mechs are cool. Infantry combat leaves a bit to be desired especially in Skirmish mode where the AI gets health and damage buffs. The pathfinding can also be a little frustrating at times. As far as RTS games go, it could be better, and it took a couple years for the balancing to get to where it's at now. It's definitely worth the sale price though.

Due to aforementioned issues like poor balancing, clunky controls, and rather dumb AI. It really lacks any reason to replay it once your finished with the campaign. It was fun during the first few missions to watch huge mechs duke it out, but that charm wears off fast.

Majority of my campaign experience was of frustration and boredom. The story to me, is so full of cliches and cheesy dialogues I pretty much stopped caring half-way through the Polania campaign.

Playing through the each mission was annoying thanks to your small population cap and very restricted resources. The biggest issue is the small pop cap, making it hard for you to have any reserve forces, making you put all your units at the front line. If one enemy where to break through there is no way for you to stop, because all your units are simply to slow to catch them. Meanwhile AI has the ability to spam infinite waves of troops and mechs at you with no cost. At times they can instantly appear behind your army. Plus majority of cases it will be end tier units, meanwhile your locked with only starter units. Certain maps can has bugs that force you to do complete restart or will soft lock you. I had one where my hero would get stuck or other times invincible enemies. Even reloading older saves could not fix it.

Most missions just involves you slowly grinding your way towards the last objective, having to slowly pick-off one enemy at a time, just trying to bait the dumb AI. For example in the last Polania mission in order to get Platinium your forced to not capture more than the two starting resource points, because if you do then enemies will start spamming hordes of infantry at you behind your lines to capture all your resource points. As soon as they capture one you can kiss your platinum good bye. Then of course theirs the stealth mission and the solo unit mission. Thanks to the clunky controls it makes them frustrating to play. Pretty much all missions just become a long tedious slugfest aside from the solo unit and stealth missions which in they are in their own category of annoyance.

Personally I don't think its a waste of money. A 1920+ mod for Gates of Hell does a better job than this game.
you mean this mod!

It's sad but it's the truth..

This mod for "Call to Arms" "Gate to Hell" is really much more varied than "Iron Harvest" itself!

The reason is the following thing in "iron harvest"

1) No normal mobile vehicles, just battle robots, robots, robots without end.

Even in Usonia DLC: the reporter who writes his newspaper: his camera has arms and legs and legs and is a mech!

2) small player base.. devs refuse to add workshop. and want to keep Iron Harvest small, like other vehicles and equipment, for factions!

PS: We read these reviews all the time, the players want other vehicles. And want bigger maps, this is one of the reasons why many people don't want to play multiplayer, because there is no variety and no freedom in the game!

3) Cheating AI: without amree size and no stop limits.

This is also constantly criticized that the cheating AI should be removed!
But the developers refuse to restrict the cheat AI!

But the developers refuse to restrict the cheat AI! and don't want to add an arm limit of 50-80. The game runs into performance problems because of the cheating AI, because the AI is only cheating!

3) "Iron HArvest" should keep up with "Company of Heroes"! according to the developers imagination..

But they refuse to give players what is particularly criticized. Many players try to help the devs, but the devs stick to their robot cliche instead of asking for help to improve the game!

4) "Iron Harvest" game unfortunately does not offer any variety like "Call to Arms", Gate to Hell, "Comapny of Heros" and Men of War. It's a one-sided game, despite the Worldmap update! without variety and other things that RTS strategy games have!

The base maps of an RTS game are always medium maps and base vehicles, such as normal tanks and transport vehicles!

Iron Harvest only has "Robots" and small player cards! and the allied faction can't even replace each other because all factions have the same robots and equipment!

I would be happy if the developers finally let go of their cliché and develop a normal RTS game from Iron HArvest.

All developers use the potential of their games and give people what they criticize!

But "Iron Harvest" hasn't fulfilled any of the criticisms that have been listed all the time.

except that the "Usonia" faction was added with the same robots and army as the other 3 factions!

but that doesn't make "iron harvest" any better either, because the basic mechanics like normal vehicles, tanks and middle player cards are missing!

And that's one of the biggest problems in RTS play when the basic mechanics are missing!

Yep, that's the one I was talking about.

You bring a point I forgot mention earlier about cheating AIs. While other RTS titles like Supreme Commander does also allow their AIs to cheat a bit. It's not so blatantly obvious. It's not like they are building end tech units within less than a minute within the match and spamming nothing else but end tech units.

You are pretty much spot on, when it comes to variety in this game. Simply looking different is not enough, they have to feel different and function differently from each other. So it gets pretty stale fast in skirmish mode once you played every faction a few times. There is hardly much variety in your tactics, pretty much always do the same thing. Rush to points, capture as many of them you can, build anti-infantry mechs, bully the AI while you rush to unlock the fattest mech, spam them out, and you win. That's pretty much every skirmish match in a nutshell.
