Developers don't have that ability for RTS games. AI has to cheat because, King Arts they can't create one ...

I played this game in Alpha, and before, I kickstarted it. It didn't have these kind of problems then, its incredibly frustrating to get on for a night of compstomping and then the AI just spams units out the wazoo in a completely impossible way.

AI doesnt cheat in iron harvest, it has same resource pool as regular player.

dont think so / never happend to me. The only thing i noticed is that ai can sometimes put 3/5 models into cover, and with other 2 head out to capture something (lol). But to be honest, with how easy the ai is, i won't mind if they let it cheat some, even by giving it more resources.

While i really enjoy Iron Harvest I gotta agree about the AI quality. I've played smarter AI's that didn't cheat back in the 90s and early 00's games. I felt like i was playing war wind's non existent AI from their campaign lol. Sure they got some scripted actions but man they cannot adapt at all.

There's very little "intelligence" in any game AI where the game rules are fairly open, as in RTS. It's just too complex. You can do ML training for a car running around a closed track but this is a whole different style of play. All I see is programmed behaviour running on scripted event triggers. If this is not the case, it a great AI simulation of someone having done that.

Even a medium AI seems to get a better resource rate than you do when you have more oil and iron mines. The resource gather rate in this game is so slow. The AI just queues up a stupid amount of units that you cant compete with because you cant afford it

At least give us the option to build defenses around our resources. Every time I come back to this game, I basically quit playing half way through because a comp stomp becomes incredibly frustrating. Resources drip out while the computer spams units all over the map. It's amazing that they still have no clue why this game is almost dead.

Usually the AI has this, cause if they would play like regular players, they would just kill you easily. They have full developed bases and units all over the map. So instead of makeing a super complex AI just for a single player campaign, they make a simple scripted one, which has some "cheats" to balance it.
These games like CoH are focused on multiplayer not singleplayer, so they will not get much more by making better ai.

Wasn't it originally a single player game and multiplayer was just a stretch goal on their Kick-Starter?

I am quite sure that AI up to hard gets NO bonus, I think the devs also said that the AI has no advantage. The AI has had NEVER more troops than me, at least so far I can tell. Also I can beat insane reliably, so I am quite certain, that even if the AI should have an advantage over the player it is minimal.

Yeah, something like that. Multiplayer and coop is just nice to have. They even said some patches back, that they try to balance the game for the campaign first, not multiplayer.
Still, the most changes over time were because of data they got from mutliplayer, not singleplayer.

people littarly say AI is to easy now its harder now everyone complains its to hard MAKE UP YOUR MIND
