Will this game be more COH or more C&C?
Is this a classic RTS like C&C or starcraft with full basebuilding and winning by exterminating the other, or more like COH with limited basebuilding but much more tactical battles and map domination with points?

Bit of both, I guess. The multiplayer will have a CoH flavour mostly, but we’ll try to mix things up with the campaign to keep it interesting. Remember these cool Tanja stealth missions from C&C1? Something like this! We’re still working on things, so just keep an eye on our future devblogs, we’ll surely reveal some stuff there over the next months.

Kinda seems like a bit of both?
I might be way off but the way it sounds to me, it'll be the base building of C&C with the tactical squad-based gameplay of COH.

As of this moment I'd say it's VERY CoH flavored. You don't build production units, you don't build pylons or plasma generators and there's no haunted gold mines. You've got unit production buildings (At the moment you have the Barracks and the Workshop which produce infantry and mechs respectively) and you've got some rudimentary defenses like bunkers and barbed wire.

So yeah, 'more tactical battles and map domination with points' is spot on. The capture points around the map are oil pumps and automated iron mines -- so think CoH's fuel and munitions points, but get rid of manpower as a currency and replace it with just iron and oil.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Well, I knew that this game was promoted to be played a lot like Company of Heroes mechanically, from the beginning which makes it RTT automatically and not RTS. I find this as false advertising and a shady way to lure RTS players out in order to grab their attention on this but it's not cool.

Trying to cater both audience never works, this is proven by history. So be clear on your vision and planning and do not promote it if this is going to be CoH-like, which is the case, then call it like that, RTT. And you will have a more satisfied and happy audience in the end but definitely not if you insist on believing that you can achieve your goal on both ends.

I took a quick look, if this is "shady", "not cool" and "false advertising" and discovered that Company of Heroes does not mention "RTT" on it's Steam page. It even has a "RTS" Tag.

If you feel like this one should be labelled "RTT", then feel free to add a user tag to Iron Harvest on it's Store Page (and Company of Heroes while you're at it) :)

As i see ingame - it is perfect CoH clone. But it isn't bad thing) It is glorious, because CoH style is best for reality-oriented RTS.

CoH clone ffs.... I'm getting old somehow. I need my C&C shot, but i dont see it happening here. RTT is kids stuff.

i really feel that based on the concept artwork that details the first person viewpoint of this game...would essentially top that of advanced warfare, and given enough work with game as an fps would have not only a wider audience and appeal but i could....

....easily see handshakes with Activision in this games future

the RTS is well...sad to say, But to be honest, in the eye of IT'S beholder to the majority compared...to where this could have
gone
if it would of been kept within the walls of its concept art 1st person where it was crowd funded from which i think is why it went $1.2M or such

i think you could have tripled or even quad that value easily

i was VERY excited when i saw the concept art as It really embodied true mechanical horror
and quite close with war of the worlds and i have played a game like that, but the was a sheer lack of detail throughout in contrast to your artwork both on game and off on paper

simply put:
you had the thorough picture however i felt that making it an rts was well...i was going to buy this...but i cant...EA killed Our RTS, C&C...with another notorious 4 of death
