Do they have permission from Company of Heroes to make this game?
It's VERY similar in many ways.

Just playing a bit you see that the interface, the selection, UI, capture system, building system, cover system (including cover display), combat style, the list goes on of what isnt just an inspiration but a very very close replica. Does that make it bad? No. But does it make it feel and play like a CoH clone. Yes.
They have simmularities . and i actuly thought when i 1st saw the game that RELIC is making a new COH like game set in a alternate post ww1 . Playing the hovever feels simmular . but it has it own touch and it feels unique and distinct both in look and how gameplay has been aprooched . its like taking battlefield and call of duty and saying "Why dont they sue battlefield?" its just not the same thing and just inst a rip off or anything . its just very inspiraed by it

Same genre, similar gameplay, Different model, different sound effect, different concept

Nope, Relic can't sue this company...well tehnically they can do it if they tried real hard but it won't worth the effort and money spent.
thats kind of the point
If this game was actually COH with a steampunk skin and a decent playerbase I would pay 100 dollars. But this game is half as good or as polished as original COH, not really worth 50 usd

You forgot... same UI, same retreat functions, same movement, same hiding in buildings, same line of sight, same concept entirely, just a different skin and sounds....

So if I build a Chevy Camaro, then repaint it, I can sell it as a new car? LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

CoH is an influence, as are other RTS games. Games, like films and art, build on what came before. Science also is like that. We do have some dinstinctions and our own flavour.
CoH doesn't have heroes, such infantry flexibility, varied/interesting art style and fully destructible terrain that mechs can create their own paths. CoH is a great game that did a lot right that deserves carrying on into the future. Also, we shouldn't have a gaming culture where we play only one game per genre. We pay tribute to CoH, but we are not CoH. Comparisons to CoH are inevitable and just reflects the mindset of players in 2020. Any RTS will be in the shadow of CoH, Relic did an amazing job with it and that's why it's one of the few RTS of note in the past 15 years. We hope with the support of the player base we can revive the RTS genre and eventually achieve everything CoH did and perhaps more :)

lol so what your point? i play CoH i don't really bother what iron harvest offer. are you become blizzard here? never heard of League of legend and dota2 before? or blizzard must ask permission to Valve for copying team fortress 2?
Then everyone should just get permission from Dune creators. Considering that they more or less created the RTS genre as we know it. This is just silly. Westwood Studios is owned by EA nowadays. If they can sue on something, they will. Apparently there isn't a case.

You cant trademark and copyright game themes and mechanics

If you could, command and conquer 95 would the be only strategy game to exist.
Dune came before. Although Westwood owns both so.
if you make comparison to a car, they are basically has same function. what make them different is the company who make them. is chevy camaro can turn left and right without a steer? can move without a wheel?

C&C? You mean Dune II? ))
And yes, this is not the clone of CoH, cos... ITS DIFFERENT! Omg, but in any art actions (include movies and games) having diffirent artstile is enough to be not sued. And this game at least have diffirent art style, and i think it has diffirent company, diffirent story, sound, diffirent engine.... So in similaryties there are only menu stile (absolutly standart for 99% tactics of last 2 decades), unit types (it's so strange that real world type combat armyes has gunners artyllery and grenadeer somehow) and genre.
yes, how DARE they make an RTS game that functions similarly to another game! I mean, it's not like there are other RTS games that function very similarly to eachother like Supreme Commander and Planetary Annihilation. No games like that exist, nuh-uh and therefore if one game plays similarly to another game, it MUST be a clone!

Definitely agree.

Game so far feels like the lovechild of COH and DOW. I loved both so I am looking forward to getting to try this out with the heroes and other faction/s. Glad you guys stepped up to keep those games and the genre going.
