sometimes answering or not answering affects the outcome you get in the story (different endings), though that's only for a select few phonecalls. in order to ignore it you simply do not press on the phone icon and just let the text continue, Rintaro will narrate some things and then if there is a choice to be made, he will say that he did not answer the phone, you continue the story form there. phonecalls that don't affect the story will be answered anyway, but if you do that sometimes you might unlock a tip or two so watch out for that.
