I have no idea what the issue might be, i am not sure if the game will work with your controller (emulator). Steam differentiate only between no, partial and full controller support, where partial means that you need mouse and/or keyboard to launch or use some game features, where full support is used e.g. in big picture mode, where you can use your pc as console.
Please, remember you can refund your game
Hi, please try the controller in other games, and ensure that you have all drivers up to date.
I say "was" because I figured out my Roccat Tyon mouse had registered as a joystick in-game due to the side paddle-wheel and was the default option -- IMO this should not be the default, but also a helpful little snippet saying "Reverse not working? Try changing wheel and/or axis settings" would do wonders. I was so mad and almost called this game quits for being so faulty until I came here and found people had it working. Going digging led to why, so thought I'd share.
If reverse don't work, try changing the wheel in options!
