[BUG Workaround] Game wont start with certain Intel 10th gen processors

There is a a bug with SSL and certain intel processors. Here are the boring details:

The current workaround is the following:

1. Using notepad create a Kine.bat file next to Kine.exe with these contents:
@echo off
set OPENSSL_ia32cap=:~0x20000000
Kine.exe

2. Run that .bat file instead of Kine.exe


If that works then this is the processor issue. I am very sorry for this issue! I'm trying to figure out a better permanent fix <3

I did copy paste those contents into Notepad, then selected "save as" Kine.bat. I selected this file instead of Kine and hit "open". Still nothing. I will try on my other computer, anything I'm doing wrong or any other work arounds? thank you. excited to play your game!

Hi Rachel, I'm guessing the game is unable to start on your machine? Can you email any details (any fatal errors or pop ups you see before the crash) to "[e-mail]"?

Hey, I just got the game and I'm having the same issue. The game doesn't start and I already tried workaround. There's no error message, there's nothing that I can share. Really weird.

Thanks for the fix! It worked well for me.

Just in case this helps for anyone else (since I made this mistake and felt ~very~ dumb about it), you're supposed to place the Kine.bat file next to the Kine.exe in your steam folders, not next to the Kine shortcut on desktop.

No luck with 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11390H @ 3.40GHz.
Pressing Play — the game just abruptly stops launching and resets to the same deceptive Play🫠
