Armor Piercer pilot skill Explanation
Hey everyone, I was testing different pilot skills but I would like to ask if anyone have tried the armor piercer pilot skill. If so, what does it actually do? Because it states that it ignores enemies' damage cut rate when you use a role action, but I don't really see an increase in my damage when using it. Is there something that I am missing?

Most things in the game don't have enormous damage resistance. The base values for the playable suits don't really go above 20% without parts, and usually sit in the 5-10% range. I assume the NPC suits have similar values. You're likely better off using Sniper or Melee Maniac for their guaranteed damage increases. Armor Piercer only seems useful against the handful of enemies that have high resist to a damage type - like the Hashmal having high beam resist.

This is one of the absolute best skills to pick up for a Beam ranged sharpshooter against Hashmal. Try it on DLC mission 1 and see how fast you can melt the Hashmals without their damage resist. Normally they shrug off 40-50% ranged beam but with this ability active during your role action, they take as much damage as the Zaku in the free tutorial.

Okay, thanks for the info, guys. I really appreciate it since it helps me decide on which pilot skills to use

I honestly recommend Armor Piercer purely because it will always be a damage boost for Melee and Range and you will always 100% know how much damage you are doing to a unit and if you are confident in your skills or don't need something like Raring to Go to start a fight you can just run Armor Piercer + Sharpshooter/Melee Maniac or all 3 if you really want. (I use Armor Piercer, Role Action, and Switch between Raring to Go Online or Sharpshooter offline because I dont have to worry about teammates blocking my shots)

I normally out damage most people online with it, even people who are using damage type that is good against a certain Mobile Armor/Big Unit with it, against Mobile Suits and Gundams it can be hit and miss because the most I've seen a unit have protection is around 20% defense but it doesn't hurt to have it either way.

Also if you are testing your damage in the Free Mission you won't see much of an increase because Zaku has very little defense

I see, thanks for the recommendation. I will try out those combinations as well.

If you use it on grunt you won't see any different, including MS boss. It's MA boss where Armor Piercer would shine. For them to have massive resistance on most part except their weakpoint. (For example Hashmal has massive resistance to all beam on all part). Destroy Gundam has both Physical and Beam resistance except melee resistance on its head, or Vega boss in DLC has weakness against beam range on their wing, but resistance to melee, but exactly opposite on their body/leg against melee and range respectively, that plugin something MA boss on Dir 2 have massive resistance of all part except their center front etc.

Graze Rin and Hashmal are two only special case where only time their resistance get lowered is when he's worn out on himself, reduce not only resistance but it turns into weakpoint on entire body on Graze Rin case, Hashmal on in head.

But Armor Piecer makes you unga bunga against anything without having to be good on information on boss battle. Although imagine you do know those informations and happen to realize that running pure DMG up with these information may result in even better DPS.
