When you say not on steam, what game is in the style of AC:FA and modern? To my understanding there isn't one.
Sure it's sold well, most Dragon Ball games do. It's not a dig, but what I'm getting at is the real money maker is a Tenkaichi remake.
I'm not referring to just chibi sd. I'm saying Armored Core 4 styled Gundam, specifically. This dross just highlights the point even more. Like is this really going to sell or do better than a Gundam game that involves different biomes where you play as characters from the original, seed, etc... of course not.
From Software's too busy with Souls-likes and possibly reviving the AC series itself to make another AC4A-style Gundam game, if by that you mean "a high-speed mecha action game oriented around aerial combat." The degree of customization in AC is generally not a thing in Gundam games, short of the Gundam Breaker series, which has more or less transitioned to a mobage after NGB was so poorly received.
Anyway, Gundam Unicorn on PS3 - a 10 year old game at this point - is the closest you'll get to that, and the closest anyone will get to an Another Century's Episode game post-ACE Portable for that matter.
Gundam games don't really have to be armored core games, they have their own fanbases and their own games they like. Hell right now as we speak this game is actually pretty high up on the top seller list, so I don't know if it'll be a problem here as well
If you want something that gives the customizability options of AC but stay Gundam, then look at Gundam Breaker 3, but even there it’s more dynasty warriors style combat rather than slow and deliberate AC style.
Combat wise, the best you'll get outside of some old FromSoft Gundam is the Gundam Versus Series which is more grounded than something wild/fast like Armored Core 4/5, but it is still fast paced and fun. Hopefully Bamco brings Extreme Vs 2 whenever the next console port comes since they bring over Gundam Games now.
Don't bother.
The Anime-Avatar Brigade are the only ones populating this forum, as they are the only ones far enough down the weeb rabbit hole to want to battle Chibi-style mechs.
Everyone else who dares question the bizarre gag art style gets chased off.
It is what it is.
I guess these SD Gundams are living rent free in your head huh
They outsold a game made in 2005, who'd actually be shocked by that? The gaming industry has probably doubled in size since then. If you think a remake or remaster wouldn't outsell both titles today, you're living in cloud cuckoo.
