That's what the SD series has always been. Chibi, tiny, adorable robots. Super Deformed Gundam.

they are the super deformed and as far as things go i have heard the license to use them is cheaper than the real ones so you will see more games with the sd brand than without

SD series of Gunpla. Originally also intended to be low cost entry to the world of Gunpla coz they're really simple to put together compared to the full size units. Due to how cute they are the popularity absolutely exploded, and even surpassed that of the mainline series for a while.

Today it still enjoys overwhelming popularity in the majority of South East Asia. Some prefer it to the mainline 'SRS BIZNESS' series.

The more recent SD-kits (especially the cross-silhouette-line) are really good in the looks-department. The BB-Senshi Unicorn-line is very nice too overall.

A point few seem to bring up is the scale of mobile suits. Depending on the series the size of the suites is very different. The SD scale likely allows all the different series without any concern to their scale between each other.

Honestly, a pretty solid point. The Wing and G suits are smaller than the early to mid UC by a noticeable margin, the F91 to V suits are absolutely tiny.

I thought chibi was a native word.

Yeah, ちび/chibi is just another word to describe how small something is.

In what way? Im pretty fond of the big Gundam models. I was sucked into the Battletech life. I know they got sued by Gundam at one point becauuse some of their models look identical. The Riflelman is one for sure. Gundam had a mech that looked almost exactly like the Battletech Rifleman. So, im all about mechwarrior, Battletech, etc. Ive got a couple big 3D print models for Battletech, but theres a ton for Gundam. I know theres a big difference between the way Gunudams and Battletech mechs act too. Gundams change shape sometimes and are all fast and Battletech are slow, ponderous...a fast 'tech mech is a light mech, They can hit 90+ with boosters. But.....I digress. What games had big Gundams you could play?

Gundam Extreme VS Maxi Boost On - that didn't get ported because we've whined too much about Ace Combat 7, another game from the same developers. EXVS2 has a nonzero chance of getting a PC port, but I wouldn't trust the dev team to actually give a ♥♥♥♥ about PC gaming.

Gundam Breaker 3 - Illinx got removed from the development of the Gundam Breaker series, instead being relegated to a Black Clover hero shooter. It didn't do well, so don't expect an Illinx-developed Gundam game to ever be on PC.

Gundam Evolution - developed by Bandai Namco Online, an MMO division of the company. Not an MMO per say but rather a 6v6 hero shooter that reframes mobile suits as heroes for a first person shooter. Probably the next best thing for Gundam games on PC

Thanks for the info mate. Thats too bad. I wouldve liked to get into some of those big Gundam mechs. Battletech I love, dont get me wrong. But theyre mostly big, plodding, slow, heavy, armed to the teeth with tons of armour. I know Gundam was fast, lots of side to side movement, actually flying (not jump jets), etc.
