Mid game MA fights are tough and you need to get the defense/attack timing right as the game pretty much expects you to perfect guard at least some of the unavoidable moves. They become easier late game when some new healing skills are available.
And speaking of Guard, they really don't want you holding down Guard and blocking an entire melee combo as your shield will break quickly. You are supposed to time between each attack and dodge which can be tricky. Sometimes there is just no way to defend yourself and you have to take the damage. If you are still trying to figure out a boss, bringing an Infighter partner to boost the shield hp and damage reduction can help. There are also parts to buff the shield but I think you are best off boosting HP first before anything else for single player.
Have you tried selling the free Capital tickets they gave out in the last update? I think it is like over a million now to boost early gameplay. Otherwise unlock the Alex/F91 as soon as you can and use their SPA to kill regular mobs for money. Don't do it too long as money gets way more plentiful late game (a mission can drop over 5 million and more)
Thanks for the info
