Why is it this Chibi design?
Even if the gameplay stayed the exact same, if it was normal design I would buy it.

I was posting this exact thread while you posted yours. I'd like to know the core constituency of people clamoring for SD. Like imagine a Godzilla game comes to Steam finally, and they decide to make them human sized.

Why, because the developers wanted to. Also, people like it.

Because SD Gundam has been around since the early 80's probably longer than you two have been alive. It was pretty big back in japan and came out west back in early 2000s I believe.

Honestly i was not big on it at first either but after playing some of the strat rpgs It grew on me.

I'm not a big fan of the SD designs either personally, but I can get past it if the game stays good. I like the combat so far in the beginning. But yes in general I would have preferred the suits to be normally size and proportioned

Absolute gold, a GenXer is lecturing me on "high culture." I was born when there was a Soviet Union -- before who would ever become a weeb got more than Voltron, Ronin Warriors, and Macross in the West.

This game is in the long running SD Gundam series. This is the same as complaining that the new Lego Star Wars game is Lego instead of a regular game.

Star Wars is not worth saving so no use lobbying the rights holders and developers about that. This IP is another matter.

I mean, even if it's been around awhile I grew up watching Mobile Fighter G everyday after school. I played all the Dynasty Warriors gundam games and I've been looking to scratch that itch ever since(2006-2007? I think). Some of my favorite anime are mech based and they're brutal, playing as a chibi just makes me not want to play it. I want a high realism, high gore, and advanced mechanics gundam game, guess I just gotta keep waiting.

Yeah, but starwars regularly gets normal titles, all the time. Gundam hasn't had a new game in like 15 years.

No new Gundam games in the past 15 years?

What about:
G Generation Genesis (2016)
G Generation Cross Rays (2019)
Battle Operation 2 (2018)
Battle Operation: Code Fairy (2021)

More SD, a pvp game, gross and a PS5 exclusive; I don't play console.

Last Gundam games I can think of with an English dub in them would have been the DW Gundam games. Before that we had properly released dubbed games on the PS2 era. Sure would be nice to get some proper freaking releases that isn't just all a subtitled nightmare ya know. Some of us can't make our eyes separate to read and watch at the same time.

Doesn't matter what type of games they are. You said that there haven't been any Gundam games in the past 15 years.

There's EXVS2 / MBON ... If you are looking for gundam that obey certain physics , mechanically "heavy" i am sorry to tell you there will not be because they had a fell out with capcom after the origional EFSF vs Zeon.
