Barely anything like SDGO. It's closer to the GVG/GBU/GB games even though it half resembles those. A lot of the speed and mobility seems to have been pushed out to focus more on blocking.

The general speed compared to SDGO is significantly slower even though the animation cancelling might not seem that way. Weapons reload slower, melee combat is less frantic, and ranged shots travel a lot slower.

I think this is better than SD capsule fighter, personally, I've played both and like this one much more. More item and build focused instead of gacha

Thanks for the reply, does this game push people to fight around medium to close range? How is combat for ranged units that can fire weapons from a very far distance away from the enemy? I remember from SDGO you sometimes can get sniped from almost across the map resulting in heavy damage and a knockdown. (from pvp)

Combat distance is a lot shorter, you don't have wide maps for you to snipe across, nor do weapons shoot that far reliably to begin with. Since almost every ranged attacks are projectile together with the lock-on system that will aim ahead of enemy movement, you'll feel pushed to try to get in closer.

Even for the ranged suits, you will want to consider being close enough to go into melee quickly, else you'll have really long periods of time not attacking while your main ranged weapon reloads. Usually, I find myself in less about 1 second dash distance away from a boss, even in sharpshooter types just so I'm in position to bait out a melee to counter or to close in to melee while stuff is reloading.

Hay thanks, I might have to give it a test run first to see if I want to stick with the game or give it a pass.

Ouch... im crossing my fingers hoping there is an option for a faster reload speed option, sure I would like to get in the middle of a fight but... id also like to have a choice to spend most of the mission shooting then having to dash in for melee attacks then dash back out. That part is kind of a big miss for me.

Alright I think this might actually be a keeper, combat reminds me a little bit of capsule fighter, projectiles there were slow anyways in both games unless the weapons were hit scan. I also do agree with people wanting pvp to be added in the game because at some point updates might slow down along with one everyone has almost all the gundams collected what else is there to do? Pvp kept players playing in capsule fighters.

Capsule Fighter was far better if you actually got good at it. This game does PVE much better than Capsule Fighter did though.

You don't want PVP in this game, I promise you. It's stun and combo-heavy. People good at shooter games will not dominate, people who are good at fighting games will. You think you want PVP until a Tekken or SF player zero-to-deaths you once your burst options have run out.

Amen on the PVE part.

I mean... it would be an option to continue playing the game... Dont want to repeat missions forever, what should I do once I collected all of the gundams? And I think fighting games reward people able to combo well to a point it just takes nearly all their healthbar down. Its fun for those who like to fight, I had fun in those melee only lobbys and then i would bring a unit that does bonus damage to red(melee units) I brought i think g-3 gundam carrying the two bazookas? his melee only did a shoulder bash but on the back it did devastating damage lol~!
icefoxie Aug 25, 2022 @ 4:13am
*cough* never mind it was the gundam twin bazooka version
icefoxie Aug 25, 2022 @ 4:20am
You dont think players will be satisfied with always picking suits with TOD do you? Specially the good ones? If there was pvp though id sign up for it for the experience xD be crazy how well guys can be so good with combos sometimes you cant be mad about that now and then. And umm, I think most bosses in games tend to have an option to not be stunned xD Or they would just be so dang easy to beat.
icefoxie Aug 25, 2022 @ 4:27am
There also seems to be an option to basic attack, heavy area attack and i think a chase attack? possibly a rock paper scissor thing?
icefoxie Aug 25, 2022 @ 4:28am
Eh In the end nothing is perfect xD but see how things go in the future. Good points.
icefoxie Aug 25, 2022 @ 4:33am
Ah not to mention there is now a block function so that does change a few things for combat xD
