For all intents and purposes this title is dead - as in "theoretically a finished product but with persistent bugs and unfulfilled potential".
Devs exist on Social Media but 0.00% mention of anything OiS. 1.0 is an unfinished game. Tons of bugs. Hardly any content beyond the sandbox element. Its sad - could have been great.
You remember the companies name and never buy a single thing from them again.
I have seen no dev engagement regarding this since the last couple of months it seems.
Developer that scam you and left game to die https://twitter.com/leighformayor
"Designer" https://twitter.com/expectproblems
"Company" https://twitter.com/fegames
Those are the people if you want to hold accountable.
Descriptions on their twitters:
"He/him", "she/her".
That's all I needed to know this would be a trainwreck, if I had known. Lesson learned for the future.
It would be unfortunate if there are still bugs. I haven't encountered any so far. But you can do what so many of us did after games were released, and it is no longer the developer's responsibility: unofficial patches.
Note: I'm stating this under the assumption that the game isn't some horrible buggy mess. If it was unfinished and rushed out as a fully developed product, I would be irate too.
That said, I'd love to see more content and features included as well.
Now before we go any further in this conversation, please read this:

This is an official post by Leigh, the main developer for the game, listing all the planned improvements (or "promises") to the game. Some of these he had already started implementing at that point in time... and then all of a sudden pulled out of the project completely, leaving some things unfinished.
How do I know this? One piece of proof is here:
https://steamdb.info/app/824070/stats/
This is where game "exports" some statistics to Steam for the purpose of Steam Achievements.
Steam Achievements are on the post-release list of improvements. Objects in Space already exports some variables, which only need to be put together and embellished with graphics.
I think the ire the devs had drawn on their heads is well deserved.
Because the pressure """customers""" are putting is this high, of course its better to escape your responsibilities rather than facing the brutal reality and spending years after release of correcting bugs, by getting insulted on an hourly basis instead of receiving well formated and useful bug reports.
Once I wanted to work on video games, I'm passionated by graphics programming, would have loved working on advanced rendering engines, but since players are so toxic I decided to work in the industry/scientific visualisation.
"Devs, when will you honour your promises to us? It's been over three months with no sign of life!"
"Don't insult me! Hurr Durr!"
@Konscience:
1) In order to be "insulted" by threads like this one here on Steam, the developers need to actually show up and read it. The main dev has not been around for yonks.
2) The "toxicity" started in the last two-three weeks. Contrary to your dreamed-up statement, the gaming community was quite supportive when OiS was in development and even more so right after the release, when communication was still good on the side of the devs. Personally I have started voicing my "entitlement" two months after devs disappeared, and I feel I have given them reasonable "benefit of the doubt" before reporting on my findings to the rest of the community.
3) The "pressure" the customers (the definition of which is: people who paid good money for the game. There is no need for triple inverted commas) are exerting on the developers is not unreasonable. I can't speak for others, but *I* would just like Leigh and Elissa to honour the promises they made to us after release. Nothing more. Nothing less.
That was likely the one pretending to be female that likes females...
We all understand the game is "finished". That the developers decided to discontinue support given the promises made and extant issue, it just smears their reputations.
Just, for future customers, beware.
