Brand New = filled board, mostly ConnectX with some Octan
Defense = filled board, durable components
Boost = filled board except buff, efficiency components
Low Power = minimal board, low power drain components
Stealth = minimal board, low emission components
Hope that helps.
Defense & Boost are objectively better than Brand New, since the board will be full or nearly and custom components are generally better.
Low Power is something you might want on something you don't care about efficiency or stealth but eats a lot of power. I'm trying out a Jump Drive in this config, but Boost might work too.
Elander's probably my favourite general make for components, so stealth modules are great, for most things it doesn't matter that the board isn't filled out.
