has someone who has been burnt by buying an ea title, i've been following instead of buying this game and yeah i noticed it has been months without updates just writing lore now and than to keep it looking like the game is alive.... and trick new people to buy it thinking its been actively being updated "so many NEWS entries lore and stuff" yeah... hate to act like this but it seems purely dead game with lore updates as bait....its shaddy, and a shame as i've seen gameplay and played few hours at friends house and this game has potential, just need perhaps change hands to someone who really wants to complete the game once and for all.....

this kinda looks like other ea game nexomon, still has first game on EA unfinished and drying without updates, yet has posted nexomon sequel to release this summer.... total legit and trustworthy ppl.......

same i bought couple of EA games and ended up being nothing till the end, since then i'd never buy an EA game unless it's KLEI, klei entertainment are the only ones who make EA "PLAYABLE"

Realistically speaking, since all we see are more monster designs and no game play progress, I'm guessing they lost their programmer, and are stalling hoping to find one that will basically work on spec rather than expect to be paid, or they are looking for an investor in hopes of hiring someone capable of finishing the game.

Either way, yeah, basically. Development is dead, and I'd be surprised if it ever got going again.

They've been doing posts like that every week since the beginning March.

It's a possibility that they're having issues, but since these "updates" have been going on for many months now without any other actual updates, I highly doubt it.

This game was also on Kickstarter and the comments from backers are a hot mess. (I suggest anyone who wants the game to look into their KS and go through those comments first) They also did an update June 25th about the game on their KS if people want to look into it. They seem to update there once a month or so, but only update on steam when they 'patch' the game:

From my understanding people said they told the devs that the game wasn't even ready for release on steam yet and needed more work.
There was mention that the dev said he wants to do a second game, IMO that's a huge red flag and I wish I had never bought this game.

they're probably working with the switch and ps/xbox ports, they did promised that on their kickstarter, and the discord still alive and well

They post regular content updates on their kickstarter but seems like they don't roll out updates on steam very quick.

I have read elsewhere that they are trying to perfect one massive complete update to the game. Not sure if that is accurate or not.

So from what has been discussed on the discord and as one of the original Kickstarters, I can at least say that they've been trying to work on a more complete version of the game. I am not sure if that they had to dial it back for a complete infrastructure rework (especially with the god awful UI) or what but there's been at least more communication on the KS and on their discord than they have through steam. I was 100% against Early Access as well just because I know how much games get scrutinized over it. However I know the dev team has really been struggling amid the covid crisis, whether there was a death from one of their core members is difficult to see.
