Black Screen on startup

Started up for the first time and while I hear sound effects and see yellow circles around my controllers, everything is black. I might as well be in a black room. I think I'm at the main menu, but I can't see it. Only hear the sound effect of hovering over something every now and then. Any advice?

Check for GPU driver updates, make sure you launch the game after steamvr

GPU has already been updated to the latest and steamvr was open before BONEWORKS

try restarting then reinstalling? It sounds like a directX issue though.

it worked but the recommended settings are higher then the ones i own. might have to get better hardware eventually

Even if you had pc hardware below minimum spec, it shouldn't ever show up as completely black.

This issue shouldn't have anything to do with your computer specs.

Check your DirectX setting.

Additionally you can upload your output_log.txt and we can see where the gpu error is happening.

It's not the issue that I'm talking about. That's fixed. I was just stating that I believe my hardware probably should be upgraded in the future and I should be more concerned regarding hardware requirements in the future.

i’m having the same issue. Did you find a fix? I’m using the Vive Pro and every time i start up, i get the loading animation then black screened.
