How do I disable the double forward to sprint?
It's very obnoxious and makes melee combat hell. I only need to click down to sprint, that's all i ever use.

It's naff. When you want to peg it from the zombies it puts you into a peaceful stroll. When you are on a ledge it goes into sprint right off the edge. The worst control for run/walk they could have picked.
It only works when it wants. What it desperately needs is a run/walk toggle.

Double forward? I have not noticed this. I have begun changing the control settings, so that clicking the stick toggles sprint on and off instead of having to hold it. Double forward sounds a bit annoying.

My left Index controllers stick ended up breaking because holding the stick forward and clicking it seems to have been a bit too much for it. I just got the replacement today though.

Hi OP, did you ever find a solution to this? Got exact same issue.
Caldor Mar 21, 2020 @ 4:05pm
I think there is an update to SteamVR now that should make it possible to change the keybindings making for a click to active sprinting on and off.

Issue isn't that but hat double "tapping" the stick in a direction is also engaging sprint.

I bound sprint to a different key but keep accidentally starting to sprint when wanting to walk by just moving the stick.

I actually thought it was enough to just click it? Is this a Vive controller thing? I hear the Vive controllers are not very well supported in this game.

Is on Index Controllers.

1, Standard is clicking stick in
AND
2,"Double" pressing the stick in a direction

I've added a 3rd way and am trying to remove 2.

No need to hold the click on Touch controllers. Not sure about Index.

Pretty sure I do not have to double click it on my Index. Or my touch controllers.

Not double CLICKING. Double pressing/pushing/moving it in a direction. Guess "pressing" as a word easily misleads on that.

So what you mean is you have to both touch it and press/push it?

No, those are separate ways of activating sprint.

They're saying you can initiate a sprint by moving the stick, letting go and moving it again.

I had not noticed that... seems confusing to have both ways of sprinting, then you easily activate it by mistake... but... on the other hand it sounds like you could then avoid having to press the stick so much.

Don't have to press the stick at all when one has rebound the controls, but can't as far as I know unbind the double stick move sprint.
