Totally Accurate Battlegrounds

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds

Game doesn't launch because of Anti-Cheat ; Error Code 30005
Game fails on startup and gives error code 30005. So far, I have tried:
- Reinstalling the game.
- Deleting easy anti-cheat, and then reinstalling the game (so that EAC also reinstalls, in case there's some problem there).
- Validating the game files.
- Restarting the game multiple times.
- Restarting my PC.

... All to no avail.

I only use windows defender as antivirus and as far as I can tell, there aren't any actions being taken to prevent TABG or EAC from running. If anyone has experience with this issue, a solution, or simple words of moral support (greatly appreciated), lmk.

Have you tried deleting the EasyAntiCheat.sys file then validating files?

Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't work.

Dev response would be appreciated too. Can't play the game at all as it is.

Currently, I'm getting a white box which contains the following text:

"Couldn't start the game
We're sorry, we had a problem starting your game
Error code: 30005 (StartService EasyAntiCheat_EOSSys failed with 1275.)"

It should be noted that I tried launching Elden Ring, which also requires anti-cheat, and it initialized and started properly.

Still have this problem
I'll try pinging the moderator in the TABG chat to notify her of this.
My mistake, it's a different moderator in the TABG chat. :sefacepalm::steamsad:

Sorry to hear that the game isn't working for you. Not sure what could be causing this unfortunately, but here are some troubleshooting steps for anti-cheat issues that you can try:
  • Update Windows: Windows Settings > Update & Security > Select the “Windows Update” tab to the left and then “Check for updates”.
  • Windows Defender usually doesn't cause any issues, but you can try to add exclusions for TABG, Easy Anti-Cheat and Steam anyway.
  • It's possible that there is a program installed on your computer that is interfering with the anti-cheat in some way. Start the game without running any other programs in the background (also check Task Manager for background apps).
  • Allow the game and anti-cheat through your firewall.
  • Download the latest Visual Studio packages from Microsoft. Go to Microsoft's website here[learn.microsoft.com] and under “Latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Version”, click on the link next to X64 to download the latest redistributable packages. Once it's downloaded, double-click on it to install. Then restart your computer.
  • Right-click on TABG in your Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files > TotallyAccurateBattlegrounds_Data > Plugins > x86_64 > Delete “EOSSDK-Win64-Shipping” > Verify game files to redownload the file and see if it works.
  • If you are participating in the Steam client beta, try opting out: Open Steam > Click on “Steam” in the top-left corner and select Settings > Account > Beta participation > Change > Make sure “NONE - Opt out of all beta programs” is selected.
You can also try running the game as an admin:
  1. Right-click on TABG in your Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files
  2. Right-click on TotallyAccurateBattlegrounds.exe and select Properties
  3. Select the Compatibility tab and then check the box “Run this program as administrator” and click OK
  4. You can also try giving administrator privileges to TABG_Launcher.exe by right-clicking on it and following the same steps as above
  5. Start the game from your Steam Library
