Bring back the server player count
If I don't know how many players are on the server at a certain time of day, I don't know if its worth waiting in queue for a game. I get the "Players currently searching for game" number isn't as high as it used to be but its still valuble information that I use to determine if I even want to play the game at all.

Steam charts aren't server spesific. Also I shouldn't have to scroll through outside menus to find out if I wanna play the game.

It's recommended you just use NA_West servers, as mentioned in the matchmaking update announcement. Other servers simply don't have enough players at the moment to make it worth even trying to queue in them.

I'm well aware of that. It doesn't change the fact that sometimes I play games at 4 am and I'd like to know at a glance weather I'm playing tabg or something else at that time. I already deal with buildings not loading in before I drop, falling through the floor randomly, and I wanna know ahead of time if I actaully am willing to put up with it.

No no, I get you, I think the player number should still be there too, but I also think ultimately it doesn't matter either way given that there's a proper matchmaking system now, so you should be able to know within the 2 or 3 minutes of joining a lobby whether it's playable or not anyway.

I'd like the player count to come back too!

Tbh it's better to leave it out for now, especially since the population is low.

Look at it this way:
If you see there are only 10 people online, you'll probably instantly close the game at the menu screen. If everybody does that, the count won't go up. If nobody knows how many people are online, they will probably try to at least join a game and alt+tab for a bit.

It would probably be more helpful to just close all the non USA-West servers though, at least until the player base recovers.

Also a good point.

Depriving players of information is not the way to fix a low player base. Compelling updates with fun content is how you do that. I'm impatient and I have 2 other battle royale games I could go play (And do if I don't see enough players on)
Maybe this is just me, but the entire appeal of a battle royale game is I can jump in, play 1 or 2 games, and never have to spend more than 2 minutes total in a waiting lobby/queue.
