Laws Explained
Can someone explain the laws to me. I'd assume lowering the taxes would make the populace happier however part of making the world a better place is to tax people through the nose. So can someone explain what the none to max of each law actually means to this world?

All the laws (except taxation) relate essentially to how controlled that market is. It affects which products you can sell there. For example, if Biology control is high, you can probably sell the populace gene-stimms, but brain-transfer will be super illegal. If you want to sell all the products you research, you want all the non-tax laws to be at None.

Taxation is slightly different, and refers if I remember correctly, to the *corporate* tax rate. That's why people get super angry when it's too low... because you're paying nothing, so their taxes have to rise to meet the countries tax needs.

Exactly. "Tax" just means "corporate tax", so in fact if you lower the corporate tax rate people living in those countries would either have to pay more *private* tax (which is not modelled in the game) to cover the shortfall, or public services would be cut.
