Maximum level?

Since the experience requirements per level go up as your level increases it feels like it'd be smart to save those instant level up items until I either hit a wall or don't really need them anymore.
Has anybody encountered a maximum level yet? Or rather, what's the highest character level in your party? I know it goes up into the 20s at least.

(Also, yes it is a fun thing that the Crystal Gems have a level over 9000, which invites joke answers. Please enjoy that potential responsibly though)

Just hit 30 on Connie using those level up items, it is indeed the maximum level.
(As a sidenote, level 30 isn't enough to get all the upgrades)

I hit level cap(30) on most of my characters by the time I got to the Strawberry battlefield. I maxed Peridot before I even got to the bottom of Bismuth's Forge. I really wish they would raise the level cap to 50.
