Nerf Concert
Setting ticket price to 100k makes too much money.
Should nerf to only 0.1% attendance if you do this.

Who's gonna come to a concert when the ticket is like 1k dollars each?
Only like reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally hardcore fans.

Haha! That's a really good point, actually. I'm thinking there should be a curve where after a certain point, increasing the price any further will cause MASSIVE drops in attendance.

Don't abuse it then? Having the option there doesn't mean you have to use it.

If you want to set up a concert for the 10% of fans who are super rich, I fail to see the problem. You have to have a ton of fans to make this work, it's not like some exploit where it works if you have only 20k fans.

You need at last 50k to make it barely work at the club.
Leave it up to people like you to try and ruin the only one way to make money which isn't a terrible grind.

Honnestly really hardcore fans would, I mean if you see some top groups out there to get one of the best tickets you need to pay more than 1k $ sometimes. I did spend more than 1k to go to a concert of my favourite group once but that was counting transportation, hotel, ticket and more x)

I build like 2mln hardcore base so it actually not that impossible if you do small but pricy cameral concerts
The biggest thing is lack of feedback from fans. You can rob them from money and they ask for more

If the gacha games taught us anything, it's that this is normal.
Whales gonna whale.

That mechanic is already in place, though it seems to be shifting quite fast, as in my first playthrough I can set the tickets to 10k and get 100% filled, but if I set it to 10,001 that 100% drops to only 50% or less.

But this all depends on how much fans you have and how many spots the venue has, so yes at some point you can fill 100% by overpricing your tickets if you got a lot more fans then the venue can house. And this can indeed run out of control very fast with concerts.

And in comparison there barely is any other valuable income and it makes media shows pretty obsolete. So I am all for an extra check here and that is indeed have a stat that shows the wealth of your fans, Even if you got 500k fans it is hard to believe that 100k of them are millionaires and can afford outrageous prices.

I always only did sold out concerts, but I eventually got to a point where I could make over 2 billion per concert, so I feel like a general nerf to concerts wouldn't be the worst thing. Unless they want to add some content where you can actually spend that kind of money, but even then, it would make sense to balance the methods of earning money a bit (TV shows for example don't even make money even if your idols are all extremely famous with near maxed stats).

BTS concert tickets

Fan Club tickets (FC tickets) – Original price: 11,340 yen
Stage Site Fan Club tickets – Original price: 11,340 yen
Regular tickets – Original price: 11,880 yen

This is for the concert this year

Seveenteen Concert tickets

Ticket price: ¥11,000

Kiss end of the road concert japan

SS Seats: ¥25,000 (approx. US$ 230)
S Seats: ¥20,000 (approx. US$ 185)
A Seats: ¥15,000 (approx. US$ 140)

And these are all in regular concert halls. There are instances of people spending 800 to 1000 usd for concert tickets but its not the norm.

TBH the game lets you set the prices and its a single player game. instead of setting a nerf play the game on hard or just limit the cost of the tickets yourself. The game literally lets You the player set the ticket price. I'm honestly not seeing a problem unless you lack self control over yourself

The game needs some balance tweaks , concerts is certainty one of them . You go from being careful to rich overnight .

Other stuff needs buffed , most stuff needs a little tweak at least.

I am assuming and hoping there will be balance changes.

training skills needs to be more important and better implemented.

Figuring out the right ticket price should be part of the game, just like figuring out idol salaries. I don't see how "just don't do it" can even be an argument in what is essentially a business sim.

It's great that the game lets you enter any value you want, it should just also trigger the appropriate consequences for your actions.

Yeah, I agree Heretic Saint. An ideal choice would be having to explore and find the right price point to trade off fan happiness (if this did something noticeable) or related factors against immediate profit.

Just having the question be whether you want to make one million, ten million, one hundred million or one billion from an event is no choice at all.

That's just handicapping yourself

I mean, maybe if you're a prestigious group, certainly not for an obscure idol group that hasnt existed for more than a year

Eh, they just need to implement a better algorithm for the attendance vs. ticket price. Certainly there are actual concerts that will cost you 100k yen (about 900 USD) to attend, but they are usually in smaller settings, so the ticket price is not an issue and yes, even those venues will sell out depending on who the artist is and how often they perform and how small the venue is.

The real issue is that they just need to make this math a bell curve so that the drop off on attendance is more gradual as you pump up the price past like say 100 dollars or something. Right now it's funny because you can charge up to X amount of money and get 100% attendance, but if you literally do X+1, it drops sometimes by half. Whoops.
