Modding Tools?
So I did some poking at the sample files and I just wanted to ask a few questions with regards to modding this game.

- Is there a specific set of tool(s) I need to start modding things? I noticed the game runs using JSON files and PNG files. Can I just add/remove/edit those or do I need a specialized tool in order to generate the files?

- How do you submit a mod to the workshop? I checked the game menu and found no way to upload files. Do we manually have to go to the Steam Workshop page and upload it or is there a page/tool for this?

I'm pretty sure I have other questions but for now that all I came up with. Appreciate the replies if anyone else has tried. Thanks!

1 - Other than the official Idol Manager Editor (which can be found over at itch.io), there's nothing else you need, and even the editor itself can be dismissed if all you're doing is replacing or adding new textures and characters.

2 - First, you need to manually add the mod to your game. Then, from the 'Mods' menu, you can easily upload it to the Workshop.

Alright I had a look and it seems like the modding is still very limited. I'll leave my ideas here in case the devs might stumble into it.

Suggestions so far:
- Make menus automatically get a scroll bar or change the way some menus are handled to allow for more additions to the menu without being limited by menu size (I tried to include all genres from the sample and default game and they all displayed until the choices were off screen.

- Allow for ways add new changes to the game without overwriting the main file. Ex: Allow for Genre additions without the need to overwrite the Genre.JSON

- Trait Editing. As far as I know, traits are hardcoded. We can rename them and change the description but the effects seems to be hard coded in.

while this is a very old discussion, I want to point out each trait has a type value now so if you want prodigy the value would be 1. I do not know if this helps or not
