Consequences of firing an idol
So, I want to level up my coaches and my current idols' stats are beyond their capabilities. I want to replace some of my idols, or just hire some new idols to train and then discard. What are the consequences of firing an idol? Will it have negative impact on fans? On other idols? Will disgruntled idol hunt me down later and stab me with a knife?

You just lose relationship if you let them have 90 days until firing.

Fire your coaches and hire better ones before you fire idols with good stats...

They're expert producers. I have them coaching too, so I might be able to promote them later. That coaching speed bonus sounds really good. I went with producers over coaches because of their +25% production speed bonus, while coaches don't seem to have any unique bonuses to offer.

You are going to want to hire a bunch of coaches anyway to coach all your idols, once you gain more idols. No point in having just a few producers. After several years you might have like 30 idols. More staff also means you are generating more research points when they aren't working.
You can always set individual idols to not auto-train if you only want the staff to train certain idols, or you can play around with policies.
Doesn't make any sense to fire idols for what you are trying to do in my opinion.
