Is anyone else having trouble finding Seaweed in the region test branch update?

I have played 72 days in the current beta test, and I have not seen one seaweed covered island. Moreover that means I cannot make or use any boats...

I haven't found seaweed covered rocks either, but also haven't played for too long yet.

But not long ago I finally realized that those small seaweed patches that have no description can be harvested like wood or plastic, which makes a huge difference. There's quite a few of them and you get a lot of seaweed from it, but no spores, so building a seaweed farm is useless.

I want to know why when we get to cultivating seaweed why we can't reseed the beds from previous crops? Make the farms big and slow, but repeat would be nice. Some more tweaks on managing storage might be nice too. If I have a resource clogging storage areas, being able to deselect that resource from all storage units might be nice or being able to jettison some.

I agree. It would make much sense to be able to continuously produce seaweed. And gameplay-wise it should work if it's growing slowly, like you suggested.

Seaweed is all over the map. The seaweed covered rocks seem a bit more sparse, but the seaweed floating on the water can be harvested with swimming drifters or scavenger boat.
