does walkway type matter?

does using wood or plastic change the amount of fuel to travel, speed for people to walk ect..

I have a mix of both and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Wood walkway just nicer looking than plastic from all I can tell. So I think just opening the options of walkway designs and mixing up material use if you are struggling with one resource or the other during the early game.

Plastic is better as it is needed in less production chains
Wood is essential for alot of constructions and firewood so i'd say Plastic walkways are better
Wood looks better however.

The kicker is you can only deconstruct walkways from the last point first so plan to reshuffle buildings if you want to change

I'm pretty sure it's just so that you can use a different material if you have scarce amounts of the other. Say your plastic reserves are ample, you could build the walkway out of wood instead.

as you cant upgrade the plastic ones to wood, i dont see the point of the wood ones.

i usually have all my main walkways down, before even getting to the stage where i would have spare wood.

wood is just too precious to waste on walkways
