Metal Wolf Chaos XD - Frame Rate Issues
I know I'm probably late to the party on discussing this game, but I can't help but feel confused. Just about every video of MWCXD I've seen on Youtube the game is running flawlessly without any slow down. When I play the game it chugs even though my PC should be meeting the requirements.

3.5ghz processor
GeForce GTX 1060 (3gb) Video card
8gb RAM

Notable instances being missions like Beverly Hills, where several helicopters swarm you at once and fire missiles. The explosions from those on top of other explosions happening on the ground cause the game to come to a crawl. I tried troubleshooting the problem myself by changing display and graphics settings to no avail. I looked at reviews for the game to see if this was just the way the game was "packaged." Not only was there no mention of slow down but some said that the frame rate had actually been improved over the Xbox original version by getting rid of slow down from too many explosions. (Here's one that says such.)

All other community discussions regarding frame rate only touch on the fact that its locked at 30fps. The only mention of there being any performance bugs is in an article I found (listed below) that talks about the new lighting update the game got when version 1.03 was released. I even turned down brightness after reading that and still nothing.

I know this is technically a 16-year-old game and some performance issues should be expected. I do like this game but it gets needlessly difficult when the game slows to a crawl and you can't dodge or react to something that's charging at you. I know I'm probably just talking to the void at this point but by some chance anybody stumbles across this and you have the same issues, please share if there's a way to fix it. If it's just the way the game is, then fine. Just a shame is all.

Still trying to figure out the stuttering, myself. Recently started running Metal Wolf with a program that limits core usage to a single CPU core instead of all the PC cores. It helps to a degree.
