anyone have advice for the first boss?

I'm playing on normal difficulty but the first boss keeps kicking my ass for some reason. the entire level before hand is extremely easy and nothing poses a threat whatsoever but the actual boss is able to kill me so quickly. the level isnt that long but its kinda frustrating having to play through the whole thing over again because the boss can kill me in like three hits. its those damn missiles, I cant dodge them for some reason and just one volly of them does like 3 health bars of damage. I know this is a from game but I had no idea this game was suppose to be this hard, I just thought it was gonna be a dumb fun mecha game. not saying the games bad just a little surprised is all, maybe I just suck. ive beaten dark souls 1 and 3 so I know I can handle difficult stuff.

hey u mean the big tank/ if so just super it. 1 super will kill it. if u dont have super. have rifle and rocket out. use rifle to shoot down his rockets and rockets to do damage to him. when he charges up laser/ fly over him or around him.

Also try using the buildings for cover and peek around to fire bazookas.

Yeah, the assault rifle is good for shooting down missiles, bazookas are good for damaging armored targets, and your super is great for bursting down bosses and big targets.

So the game has a mechanic called burst mode, when the circular meter in the upper right is full and glowing you can press a button to become invincible and do a lot of damage. Pretty sure it's enough to oneshot the boss

Wait, what? I just finished the game yesterday and never knew anything about burst mode. That would have made some of the fights a lot easier. I beat the first boss with rockets and a handgun to shoot down missiles. Later in the game I mostly relied on railguns for heavy damage. The second-to-last one on the list in particular chews through most bosses, including the final one.

If you are using a controller then you just click in the two sticks, not sure about keyboard, maybe F? One shots the first and second boss, let's you tank the Vega boss's desperation attack, etc

Yes it's the F key on keyboard by default.

You can also just walk up right next to the boss from any angle and it won't be able to hit you as long as you move with it.
