Gundam games suck compared to the AC series. We are long over due for a new one.

DAEMON X MACHINA.... the fact Shoji Kawamori came back to being the main mecha designer is pretty telling what they want

In my opinion about DxM, it's boring to play and the real meat of the story is at the final chapter but how some of the cut scenes are choreographed really bad given how the mechs work. And then there's all the background rigging with player vs other character fights (1 vs 1 but the enemy is invincible until some story is finished explaining things) it makes it hard to pin down how to fight them (which ends with just shooting it in the face). The mechs themselves are a hybrid of Zone of the Enders performances with Armored core 4's customization system (with Metal Wolf Chaos'es resupplying out in the field) which makes it mostly floaty subtracting the need to be grounded most of the time. The rest of the game is just bare bones loot shooter, you kill the enemies, cross there fingers if they have the highest ranked guns/armor with 3 open perk slots so you can shove the high tier perks in them. Of course it's not really that essential but if you want those perk items you have to regrind the same missions to get them. The Co-op mission are where you get the best gear (optional to have other players or have the in game characters act as the punching bags for the bosses). The bosses themselves range from the trailer/demo bosses, to some more added on as well as some level 2/3 variants of them in co-op and a train (worse boss out of the bunch). I stopped playing after i felt like i did a good amount of re-killing the same enemies and getting all the parts that i could/knew how to get since some of them are really unknown to get unless if i have to experiment with my mech (which i barely did once i got a good combo, only time i did it was on the final boss in the story but that was out of rage for my mech not being tough enough to take the hit as well as lay a hit strong enough to kill him but im not going into full detail about it). When i compare this to AC 4A, id rather play that given how it plays out with its story, boss fights, and the perk points in it that override the mechs base stats.

resupplying in the field is an ACV mechanic not ACVD they removed that entirely in lieu for short burst mission ala AC4-ACfA, heck ACV's mission line is similar to the old school ACs, but ammo management becomes paramount in ACs1-3 as you are going to be in the map for a good 10-15 minutes.

and the grinding loot? ACV (GG if you want to min max your weapons YOU WILL NEED A LOT OF COPIES OF that weapon) because your weapon growth is RNG depenent.

whether or not people like 5th gen AC is a bit unknown to me to me they act more like FM Wanders/Wanzers than the high speed demons of AC4, and more paced like the 1st-3rd gen ACs, but I generally dont like the mechanical designs of the 5th gen ACs, I still prefer the 1st-4th gen ACs.

given story telling has never been AC's strongest point all you have to know its all about corpo-nations fighting each other and their soldiers are mercenaries with a code of honor where they die with their mechs
