I only wish there was an Armored Core 4 like game that kept the insane customization and tuning options and speed of gameplay, and just modernized it with even more of everything! Just imagine an Armored Core with DXR and 4k120FPS support in today's day and age. FromSoftware I'll buy 10 copies myself! Make it happen!
The problem in terms of Speed of V/VD is that the average Mech's speed is slow in that game. It doesn't matter if you can though an immense amount of effort (or not really a lot of effort, I have a High-Speed High-Eng design in VD) make a Mech that is fast.
Is that when compared to 4/FA, V/VD is hyper slow. Your basic starter mech (Any of them) in 4/FA is stupifyingly fast. While in V/VD it takes a while before you understand the system and buy enough parts for you to design a fast mech. And even then you'd be limited in what you can use because the weapon options for a high speed mech are limited, while in 4/4A you can have a Pugilist style Hyper-Sonic Sword Fighter, or a MissileStorm nightmare ala Mei Greenfield and still retain immense speed. The speed WAS and IS mandatory in 4/FA, because if you couldn't move fast enough to evade the Macross levels of missiles heading your way, you would die in seconds regardless of the amount of AP or KP you had on hand.
Although my favorite thing from Verdict Day is the UNACs, I loved programming one and building it up. I really hope that FromSoftware brings that system back in their Next AC.
Not saying V/VD are bad Armored Core games, I love them... Just putting my 2 Cents in about the Speed difference in that game vs it's predecessor. Don't misadvertise a game, because trying to argue that V/VD is fast when it isn't on average only makes that amazing game look bad to the uninformed.
Anyway what i appreciate very much, is those different boost/jump tricks etc. Always loved advanced movement in series.
P.S. All that UNAC stuff goes historically back to AC3 Silent Line and Formula Front, yeah? it's cool how FromSoft develop ideas over the years. Like i also hear often that Chromehounds and even (yep) Metal Wolf Chaos took some influence on AC.

And anyone who's played it knows exactly what I mean.
what? this is like implying that you liked only one thing in AC, which is presented good in GB3
