To put things into perspective not using real times but to give you an idea. Some things take 10 minutes to implement, a day to test and be ready. Other things take weeks and months to implements, weeks more to test to make sure they do not break things, and ship them.
Not all developers work on the same things, and this includes even things such as programmers who are specialized in certain aspects, such as backend matchmaking not working on gameplay loop and more.
The developer gave what I thought to be a very reasonable response as to why things are the way they are currently, as well as the fact that they're actively working on it. In addition to that, what more are you looking for from this interaction?
