Also, most end-matches do end in shoot outs, but I have won a couple that were full stealth - no kills. The stealth mechanics are what allows you get superior equipment, keep a high ammo count, get good positioning (or get the case first) and thus be better equipped to win the end shoot-out.
I participated on The Finals Playtest, and despite lacking the social deduction and disguise mechanics it provides more ways to win a game than just shooting. Each player can only bring 1 gun, but instead gets access to 3 gadgets that can be used for lethal kills, terrain destruction or objective fortification. The weapon TTK is high in The Finals, so the reliance on gadgets and thus emergent gameplay are more present as well. It gave me an immersive sim experience despite being a competitive shooter, hence why I remember the gameplay so vividly.
Deceive inc, on the other hand, is surprisingly less dependent on knowledge-based emergent gameplay and instead more plays out like a shooter. Gadgets and abilities are there, and map knowledge does help save time re-routing and flanking, but ultimately guns are what bring victories.
I think their design choices are deliberate so it can appeal to the typical shooter audience while still having its own color. If the game is heavily reliant on mechanics then it would often create a situation where a new player is absolutely helpless against experienced players knowing where to put insta-kill traps and how to completely block certain passage, causing frustration as a result.
Heavy firefight is not what I initially expected from this game so I do have small complaints from time to time, but I mostly enjoy the game regardless.
Just like Hunt Showdown, trios warps the game dynamic way too much and turns it from a tactical/stealth experience into a giant TDM on a big map.
Could you stop lying about the Sniper class? You have two other threads on this already and you even showcased the user name "AceSucks" for a time. We get that you hate her. She is one of, if not the weakest character in the game with no useful tracking or escape abilities. If you miss a shot with her, you are dead. Most matches I play nobody even picks her. She needs serious ability improvements.
