Its okay on screenshots, but not a world you wanna get trapped in.
I am used to enjoy even simple games in vr, like high noon vr for example. There you can at least enjoy the satisfaction to unlock new and better weapons. Here you can 'unlock' (find) plenty more different weapons, but it really doesnt make a lot of difference.
Do not mind the negative reviews, this is one of my favorite VR games, and I've played tons of VR games including Alyx, Call of the Mountain, Lone Echo 1-2, Asgard's Wrath, etc.
I'd rate Undead Citadel 9/10, maybe even 9.5/10. You can find my review on the Store Page.
First of all - my hits register only 30%-40% of the time (which is ridiculous!).
Second - the movement is so sluggish you can't do a quick parry-hit combos (I know a bit about fencing and have some experience), the speed of the weapons doesn't match the speed of hand. At first I thought that it was intentionally made to distinguish between light and heavy weapons (lighter = quicker), but no even the small sword is sluggish as hell! Also the heavy weapons should be devastating with longer arcs and they aren't.
This just killed the game for me. Hellsplit Arena is a lot better than this crap.
That's my opinion.
After getting killed in 1st wave ':-) just choosed play again, but instead starting to replay, the undead keeps attacking my dead body and the game just ignores all input but changing view. Had to kill the game to restart. something makes the game stuck in the death animation.
The combat system is physics-based and I found it quite fun. But the different weapons are not balanced at all, the stabs are much more effective and the game becomes much more satisfying, if not too easy, once you get the hang of it.
As already said, try it and get a refund if you don't like it. That's what I did, and I couldn't stop playing.
