Does this fully adapt the original?

I've been having trouble finding a decent answer to this online. Like is it a word for word adaptation of the original? Nothing cut? Just finished playing the original for the first time, and wouldn't mind checking this out at some point if only because it would be neat to see it fully animated...

99% is fully adapted, it's only missing like 30 minutes of the farris route from the original

As other poster said, the biggest cuts are from the Faris route. 90% of the scenes are directly lifted from the anime. Some content is cut from this version to compensate for the lack of animated scenes. Only some generic scenes which could be used repeatedly are newly made. This is evident from the fact that the some scenes look really high quality while the majority of scenes look like they were ripped from the DVD.

Shido (4 C) is basically non-existent in this and one of the worldlines where Okabe gives sunglasses and earbuds to Faris is removed.

Apart from that, there are some changes in the translation, and some stuff was modified to fit with the anime scenes.

Since you've already played the original version, it wouldn't really hurt to get this one later as you would also be getting Linear Bounded Phenogram with it. Otherwise, In my own personal opinion, I would say that the original is much better.

Really, so like does that mean faris's ending isn't even possible? Or do you mean they just seriously cut down a lot of the scenes with Shido, but the whole chase scene and such still happens?

The Faris route is still there, just relatively shorter, as the anime didn't have those parts.

Shido is basically non-existent. All the chuunibyou conversations between him and Okabe are missing in this. He was only seen for like 3 seconds without any dialogue and was also race-swapped.

Chase scene still happens, although it's a bit different than in the original VN.

For what they removed from Faris route, you get at least an additional hour of 2chan reading though. They added so many new 2chan posts, and it's way more faithful to real 2chan.
