"Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable"

Hello

I just purchased this game from Steam, and am trying to execute it for the first time. A steam window popped up that says

"Performing first time setup...

Installing: Microsoft VC Redist Package (Step 1 of 2)"

and a windows window displays the text in the title. The loading bar gets stuck around 75-80% complete mark for about 10 minutes and then an error message comes up saying the process could not complete.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit. Does anybody have any help/ suggestions?

I tried executing the game again and the same thing happened, only another error message displayed and somehow skipped the first step of steam's 'first time setup' and now the game runs. wtf?

This is happening to us as well!?
I even updated our software - video card, etc...

If the game runs then everything installed/loaded correctly.You can ignore the error message.
It happened to me a few times on different games.Usually restarting (executing) the game again sorts everything out.

i have seen this issue a couple of times on diferent games (not JC2).
I think its a problem with steam, not a particular game.

Anyway, if the game runs fine, dont worry about the error and enjoy the game! :)
