JC2 freeze after exiting

Like the title says, when i exit JC back to desktop, it simply freezes up and nothing else happens, so iam forced to reboot pc everytime, thats really annoying.

Why don't you just use Task Manager to end the program ?

Just got back into playing this a little bit recently and I've noticed it has happened to me a few times on the Exit to Desktop Yes/No confirmation screen.

Slightly annoying but I've just been using Task Manager to end the program/process rather than rebooting the machine.

Well i cant do anything because like i wrote the game freezes when i try to exit it..

Windows 81.
AMD A6 5400K dual core
8 GB Ram.
Nvidia Geforce GT 620 4095 MB..

I can play the game without any other problems so i dont get it really..

Well it wont allow me to do so it wont let me "tab" between open programs, all i can see is a black screen..

Hell man your running windows. Simultaneously press Left Control + Alt + Delete. Choose Task manager.

Well i know how to do that, but like i wrote, it wont let me view the task manager window, due to black screen.. >.<

I've got the same problem, and it's really annoying! Been searching for a fix, but can't find any! Can anyone help with this problem. And as Soulreaper says, you have to log off windows, since you can't use task manager.

Having the same issue. Can't use Task Manager because screen goes black. All drivers are up to date.

I recent started having the same problem. When I click the yes option, the game wold just freeze. I can't access any other window including task manager. I reinstalled the game but problem persists. A fix would be appreciated.

Same problem here. What I do is tab out before exiting the game and end process through task manager. Not really a fix, but at least you avoid the annoying blackscreen. Hope this helps.

Had this issue for a log time on vista 64x.
.range of gtx cards, 650ti, 750 both 1 gig vram,
one gtx960 4gig vram, one amd 3500m ati 660g, 512 dedictaed vram
(laptop).
On each pc, I had to cofigure the gpu for the game on each one and after windows
updates or gpu driver update.
Most but not all that are posting here have more than one gpu on their system, be it amd,
nvidia or intel.
Make sure the right gpu is running the game and not onboard.
Turn of win10 game bar if not in use as it can cause issues.
Check that windows update is not running if possible as well as windows store not updating
automaticly.
Just played this on a pc that had vista and the exit time was aprox. less than 2 min.
when it used to be 5+.

I am having the same problem. I can get to Task Manager (via Ctrl + Alt + Del) but it does not close the program. I have tried Process Explorer and PSKill which say that they kill the process but it is still running. The result is that one can't start another game without first rebooting because Steam still thinks it's running.

Choosing "Exit to Desktop" in game is not what causes the game to freeze. If you Alt + Tab out of the game while paused and try Task Manager to close the program it still will not close.

Task Manager will close the window but does not actually stop the game exe. But this is good advice because it saves you from doing a hard reboot.

I have a fix, i have the same problem.

When i exit it freezes and opening task manager will set it behind the game so i cant exit.

I provided a .bat file, it just exits the game when you press a key:
1. Open before you play the game.
2. Press alt+tab and press any key and the game will exit!
The game will exit and the file too!

No freeze, but long time until exit to desktop...
